Your Hiking Guide to Jackson Hole

The varied and scenic terrain of the Jackson Hole area offers a vast range of hiking opportunities. You can take an evening stroll into the wilderness for a picnic dinner, or hike along the banks of the Snake River. Hiking enthusiasts may prefer the challenge of a rugged full-day hike in Teton National Park with significant elevation gain. No matter what your ability, there's a trail out there to suit you. This is one of the easiest ways to get out and experience part of what makes Jackson Hole so special.

Guided Tours

Having a local naturalist along for your immersion into our wilderness is always a good idea. There is much to see and learn about this unique valley. A knowledgeable guide will certainly open your eyes to much more than the view. One will learn about the geology that shaped our valley and the many hiking species of wildlife that inhabit it. During mid-summer when the wildflowers are in bloom, guides can be especially helpful when identifying the wide variety of species out there. If you have children, these tours can incorporate butterfly catching and identification to help keep the little ones busy. You'll probably learn more than you thought, all while experiencing the great outdoors.

Guided tours are offered for half, full and multi-day adventures. Half day tours depart morning and afternoon and generally last about four hours. Full day tours depart in the morning and return in the afternoon. Multi-day trip times depend upon the itinerary of the specific trip.

Self Guided

Want to venture out on your own? There are a number of guide books for the valley available at local shops and bookstores. You could probably consult a local as well. We are usually ripe with information and may be able to steer you away from the crowds for a more intimate experience.
