November in Jackson Hole is a transitional month from Fall into Winter. The closings of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks occur after the first weekend of the month. With the closing of the parks the community slows down tremendously. Many businesses even close shop until early December when visitor numbers pick up again.

One can still participate in elk bugling tours and there may be enough snow in the high country to participate in a snowshoe or cross country skiing tour.

The ski season starts up this month in Teton County. Grand Targhee Resort generally opens in mid-November. With the arrival of the Thanksgiving Holiday, Snow King Resort traditionally opens for its winter season.
